Diesel Hi, my name's Diesel. I run this site. I started it as a lark, because all of the other humor blog directories I found sucked. Anyway, my own humor blog is Mattress Police - Antisocial Commentary. It's listed over there on the upper right. That's what's known in the biz as a "conflict of interest." Deal with it.

Conservathink

Conservathink is the first overtly political blog to be reviewed by the humor-blogs.com reviewers and, well, it did okay. Not great, but ok. Damian's conservatism may have hurt him a little, but the reviewers seemed to be pretty fair-minded in their reviews. He got dinged for the "dreaded black background," as one reviewer called it. Other than that, the reviewers were mostly positive, if not exactly bowled over by this blog.

Some quotes from our reviewers:
Nothing like alienating almost half of your potential readers with your blog title. The blog name sounds like a Fox News blog rather than what it is, which is a mildly amusing conservative version of the Onion... The sidebar and the bottom section have so much crap in them I can't be bothered to look at any of it. Overall, some good talent wasted on a bad idea and poor execution.

At first I thought this was a pretty decent blog until in my research into his archives I figured out he's been writing political humor and satire since he was 16. And he's good at it. Jerk. Otherwise, it's a very easy blog to get around and often funny.

I think there's some real promise here. Now that the writer has graduated from high school, I'm sure his style will mature.... Not a fan of the black background.... I think this blogger has a very cute sense of humor -- perhaps a bit idealistic, but I give him a lot of credit for his attempts to express himself in a fashion that's entertaining and fun. Very nice effort.

Fairly well-written and well-reasoned for an unabashedly partisan site. Humor would probably appeal more to conservatives (duh).

I have to say that I didn't want to LIKE this blog. A conservative, a Republican, but a really, really funny one, one that I happily hang out with any day. I'll definitely be back. I won't always agree with what he's saying, but I'll definitely enjoy it. Bill O'Reilly and the other freaks at FOX could definitely learn from this guy....

Good blog. Smart and funny - not really, really funny, but a good read.

I cannot tell if I'm just overall disinterested in everything, or if this blog isn't that interesting.

This site has everything bad about it. The worst template ever, political humor that isn't funny, and inconsistent posting. And what's with using the semi-colon so much?

Do the people who use this color scheme even truly want us to read their blogs at all?
If nothing else, this review should be a lesson to those of you who are still using a dark template. The lesson being that people hate dark templates. Take note, future reviewees.

My personal opinion (and the impression that I get from some of the reviewers) is that this would be a more interesting blog if the reader didn't know right off the bat that the author is conservative. Besides immediately alienating a lot of people, the fact that the reader knows the point of view behind all the posts detracts from their humor potential -- and I'm speaking as one who is sympathetic to this blog's ideological bent. No surprise = no funny. And who knows, Damian. Some day you might want to express an opinion that doesn't toe the conservative line. Then what? Even George Will has an occasional liberal moment on a lazy Tuesday afternoon when no one else is around. And I hate to tell you this, but there's already somebody doing the "Conservative know-it-all bit," and his name is Rush Limbaugh. And Ann Coulter. And Sean Hannity. And Michael Medved. And Dr. Laura. And, well, about 80 million other people. Maybe you could be the conservative guy who's not 100% sure of himself all the time. Now THAT would be an original gimmick.

So, as an ex-pissed off conservative (and currently mellow conservative), here's my advice for you to take or discard as you see fit: Change the template, read some P.J. O'Rourke and Dave Barry (and some Voltaire and Edmund Burke while you're at it), keep your options open, and keep writing. I'd like to see where you're at in a year or ten.

Davezilla

Most of our reviewers were impressed by Davezilla's clever, accessible humor style. As one reviewer noted, "I think in the context of the blog being a quick fix and not one with humor writing, it's a good one. This is the kind of blog that is about the writer and readers being interactive with the entries. I would add this to my favorites." A few reviewers remarked that Davezilla relies too heavily on links and material borrowed from other sources, but most said they would be back. As proof of the theory that you can't please everyone, Davezilla got dinged for doing exactly the opposite of what some reviewers didn't like about The Reasonable Ego: posting short items without a lot of commentary. Several readers also complained about the difficulty of navigating through the archives.

A few readers remarked that this blog seems to be "just a collection of unoriginal pieces." I'm never sure what to do with these statements. None of the reviewers who made this point provided any examples, so I'm not sure what they're talking about. As far as I can tell, most of the material on the site is original, and the stuff that isn't is marked as such. It's true that Davezilla includes "Links of the Day" and the like with every post, but he doesn't do that instead of a post, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Some more quotes from our reviewers:
This blog makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The posts are short but very funny! Gets the job done for me!

That old saying -- "Time is money. Fast is funny". Dave has that down pat. It took me a little bit to figure out the navigation and to find the writing part, but it's worth the effort.

There are some good ideas in this blog but they just don't have that necessary spark and they end up being only mildly humorous. And having the archives at the bottom is a pain, it's much easier when they are on the side.

It takes talent to sum up pictures and/or links in a fashion that's succinct-yet-not-boring, Dave Barry does it with grand style. From what I can tell, Davezilla does, too.

Easy bite-sized stuff. His explanations of the links he's featuring make me giggle, never mind the links themselves.

This blog combines aggregated weirdness and original visual humor in a fun, random way that would make me want to visit often.

This is a blog I regularly read. I consider it the "vanguard" of its ilk. Engaging photos posted with full-on-frontal involvement of the readers to leave appropriate, if not hilarious, comments. Fantastic links of the day, etc. I always come away from reading this site having laughed!

I didn't see much writing on this blog but what I did see was entertaining. I particularly liked the David Hasselhoff photo caption post. The blog is nicely organized but could be jazzed up a little. The banner and color scheme would have made me leave pretty quickly had I not come specifically to read. The weird half-of-a-rss graphic on the right sidebar is strange-looking. My only advice. Get a better theme.

My first tendency is to give this blog all "1's", just because the guy calls himself "Davezilla". I mean....really?!? While much of it made me laugh (positive), not much of it was writing (meh). Some posts were amusing original cartoons or graphics (positive) and some appeared to be Google images (not as positive). Overall an enjoyable experience, but I don't feel an overwhelming desire to go back often. I can find my own "links of the day".

I like this blog's sense of humour, but a proper monthly archive is desperately needed. It's the easiest way to navigate any blog.
So there you go, Dave. Looks like you could benefit by improving the navigation and maybe not using as much "borrowed" material, but overall you're doing a great job... as I'm sure you know. Congrats.

The Reasonable Ego

The Reasonable Ego was a solid hit with our reviewers. Sinister Dan got dinged for his lackadaisical posting schedule, and for making a few of our reviewers think too hard. As one reviewer said, "Intelligent, witty, entertaining. These are qualities I look for in a blog, and I find all three alive and well throughout the writings of Sinister Dan. Anyone who can start a section with the line 'Unlike most of you, I've never met Boris Yeltsin' gets my vote for funny. Well done. I hope I'm smart enough to keep up."

Some quotes from our reviewers:
Good read for those who love to read about more news in a comedic fashion.

Dan here as he doesn't update as often as others, but that's a good thing. Dan has relaxed tone and doing it everyday would hurt his blog.

This is intelligent humor at its best!

Awesome. Needs to blog more, way more. The captions were good. This guy is hilarious.

More or less current events opinion pieces. Well written and pretty funny, albeit in a typical blog-snarky way.

Snarky and intelligent, and ably poking fun at both sides in the political arena. Loved it.

Very funny! You definitely have to follow politics to get him, but this is an extremely witty and sharp blog.

I can't decide if I have intermittent attention deficit disorder, or if this blog makes my brain hurt. It is my humble opinion that if this blogger were a bit more selective or economical with his/her word useage, it might make the individual posts *POP* a bit more.

Great layout. A little esoteric for me as I had to work for the funny.

My dating life has more consistancy then his entry schedule. I do like his take on things but it's hard to say I'll keep visiting if I don't know when a new entry will be posted.

I like the layout. Clean organized, easy-to-read. The posts are formatted perfectly with great use of images and links. The writing is top-notch. having said all that, I would not read the blog regularly because the humor is not the style I enjoy and the posts were a little long and boring. That freaky little BlogMad graphic in the left sidebar is too big for its space and it overlaps onto the content on my screen.

I really like blogs that make me feel smarter when I'm done reading them, and also entertain me at the same time. Sinister Dan's picture captions are hilarious, and his template is pleasing to the eye. Clearly, the biggest thing that he needs to work on is frequency of posts recently. This kind of talent should express itself more often.

SinisterDan is just plain laugh out loud funny, as well as obviously very intelligent. I could see him writing humorous commentary for a living.

This blog had the funniest posts yet. A stellar effort all around, especially with the great links and captions!
Way to go, Sinister Dan. Looks like you've made some new fans. The only real advice I can give you is to stick to a more regular posting schedule. Even if it's only once per week, at least people would know what to expect. You could also try making the posts shorter and punchier, but I suspect that would detract from your style and disappoint fans of your dry, erudite wit. I guess it's a pretty good review if the only common negative theme is that you're not posting enough.

Central Snark

Some of our reviewers may have noticed that I occasionally guest post at Central Snark (though I haven't contributed in over two weeks). One reviewer commented, "Like I'm going to give one of your blogs a bad review when there is a possibility of it coming back to haunt me." Ironically, however, I think my affiliation with Central Snark may have done it more harm than good. I and the other two long-time contributors to Central Snark recused ourselves from rating Central Snark -- and without violating the Humor-Blogs.com anonymity policy, I'll just say that the three of us are probably some of the more generous reviewers. That said, the numbers are what they are, and Central Snark fared pretty well overall.

The comments were all over the place:
"This is a quality blog all around, and it is pretty funny. Snark shares a problem with all multi-author blogs - inconsistency. Some stuff is killer, some is merely average."

"Clean, organized, simple template. Dislike the loooooong blogroll list. This blog annoyed me on two levels. One the posts were written in such a way that it felt like when you are stuck on the phone with your crazy, chatty Aunt Beatrice and she won't shut-up. And two, snark should be reserved for 14 year olds not adults. Very un-funny, immature and so-not-cool anymore."

"I don't get it."

"This is a fun blog that is made more fun by it being a group effort. My only thing is it is not snarky enough. I found it to be more charming than biting."

"I love this blog, it's one of my favorites, one of the ones I can't live without. Each of the contributing writers has their own original style which keeps this blog interesting -I always come away laughing."

"I am very impressed, although I think everyone who writes there is smarter than I am, which I find intimidating. I prefer the company of mouthbreathers so that I look good in comparison."

"The posts I read made me do my silent cubicle laugh numerous times. I'll definitely be back."

"I love this blog! I love their style of writing and the fact that I find myself belly laughing more often than not, has me going back for more. I would highly recommend this blog!"

"Normally I like wanton swearing and hot sex. Unfortunately, I found this blog to be a bit more of a ramble than a coherent source of humour. It's by no means terrible, but I could not personally recommend it to others."

"I liked the (mostly) clean look of this blog. Would have preferred more actual humor writing and less myspace videos."

"I like this better than most snarky blogs I've read, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's funny. If one of the writers hits on a subject you like, it can be interesting. Funny? Not so much."

"There is just not much new you can say about entertainment and show business. I did like the personal posts that were about the blogger's own life."

"I usually enjoy reading the Snark. I am not such a huge fan of YouTube blog posts, and unfortunately Central Snark uses that device frequently. The pictures at the top of the page frighten me. I would visit more often if they weren't so freaky."

"Sorry - I just didn't laugh and got fed up with more and more explanations of why there wasn't going to be a post this time. It felt like the posts were for people who wanted to know all about the authors as opposed to being made to laugh."

"This is not a bad blog - the humor is not my cup of tea, but the writing is decent, and the author tries to relate to the reader. I hate to be negative about any site, but this just didn't turn me on."
So, good job, Snarksters. I don't think the criticisms will come as any surprise to Snuppy & co. So let's try to cut down on the YouTube posts, maybe increase the snark quotient a little and do something about those scary pictures. Oh wait, was I supposed to do that?

Nothing to See Here

Nothing to See Here was another solid hit, though not a grand slam, with our reviewers (that's a baseball metaphor, for you Europeans). Most of our reviewers appreciated Chris' wit, and the only recurring negative was the slightly clunky design (and there wasn't full agreement on that). An impressive 57% of the reviewers said they'd be back for more.

Some quotes from our reviewers:
"Not bad, not good. I may have found Absolute Neutral..."

"Very interesting blog. Not just original humor pieces but lots of other humor-related stuff as well. I like it!"

"This blog is pretty funny, with a promise to be even funnier. His writing is decent and overall, I see a spark there. I'd check back to see how it develops. I'd also like to thank Chris for introducing me to the term shizznit (is that the new bomb, Chris?) " [editor's note: No.]

"Great design."

"Who is this guy? He's hilarious! One of the best new blogs I've seen. His Beatles post that Ringo was the mastermind of the band -- priceless."

"This blog only got a couple of chuckles out of me, the humor is too forced, and most of it just isn't funny at all."

"I just...I wanted to like it more than I did. It kind of struck me as The Onion Extra Lite. I didn't dislike it, but...it's just not as good as you think it's going to be. Kind of like Kristen Dunst."

"Quite amusing! I'll definitely be back."

"This is really funny stuff. It's hard to top The Onion with news parodies, but Chris comes close sometimes. His 'Weekly Humor Column' is amusing as well. Why must I click to continue reading? What a pain!"

"It's funny. Not split your sides funny, but humorous."

"This blog defines 'snark' in every way. The articles read like parodies of news articles - as they should - and the attacks on the politically correct are a definite plus."

"What is up with all the little symbols under each and every post? Ugh. Did not find it interesting at all."

"It was ok. Just didn't catch my interest or attention really. I thought the post previews were too short. Didn't really get me reading any of them in just a couple of lines."

"Corny humor with a cluttered mess of a design. Never have I seen a more aptly named blog."

"This is a talented writer. Unfortunately, it takes a bit of effort to get to the part of his blog where you get to actually read what he's written.... All those widgets repeated over and over are initially a big turn off. As is having to click on to a link to get to the body of his post.... I see a lot of promise here -- and I really hope he finds a way to deliver!"

"Fine attempt at being original. It also made me laugh at times - which is a definate bonus in a humour blog!"

"Okay - I have to say I liked this blog very much. The author genuinely takes the time to find interesting stuff for the readers, and the sense of humor is a light touch. The look of the site is pretty clean, and I like that - the layout is straight-forward, allowing linear thought, and a flow for the user. Good stuff."
So good job, Chris. Looks like you've got some new readers. Keep up the good work, keep polishing your style, and maybe clean up the template a bit, and you'll be on your way to a very successful blog.

Zeitgeist's Zone

This review is a study in what happens when a blog that isn't really humor-oriented gets reviewed by the Humor-Blogs.com reviewers. Zeitgeist's Zone basically got hammered.

Most of the reviewers -- including several who liked the blog -- noted that Zeitgeist's Zone didn't qualify as a humor blog. As one reviewer commented, "I'm confused. I mean, this is a very lovely blog, written by someone who is clearly intelligent and thoughtful -- maybe even spiritual, but funny? Uh, no." Many of the reviewers also remarked on the fact that this blog doesn't seem to have been updated since April. A couple also commented that they disliked the template.

A few representative comments:

"I was reading The Legend of Ennui but I got bored."

"Nice poetry."

"This is not a humor blog, but a spiritual one. This is fine and dandy, but why is it even on this list unless the joke is that it's a satire of new age which I doubt. He has himself listed in 'literature' on BlogTopSites. And that is the worst template Blogger has. Ugh. On a positive note, he's a decent writer."

"It's hard to tell what the author is aiming for, but it seems to be more philosophical than funny.
No posts since April 1st? Heck of an April's Fool's joke. The writing is good, but it's just not my cup of tea. And who knows if he'll ever return, anyway?"

"I don't know why I liked it, I just did."

"I am unsure what this blog is doing on Humor Blogs, as there are few if any ha-ha moments to be found. That said, the bizarre crap to be found here is fascinating. I'll click it again. Even though I normally hate poem blogs."

"I didn't find this blog funny - ha ha. I found it funny - odd. I would definitely read this blog on a regular basis, if only for a good think. Design is nice, writing is excellent, IMHO, but I didn't find it humorous. Great blog, though."

Sorry about that, Monojoy. I bet you'd do better on something like spiritual-blogs.com or poetry-blogs.com though. If you're even still around....

Florid Organum Straight from the South Side

Our reviewers were all over the map on Florid Organum Straight from the South Side. Depending on who you listen to, this blog is either "hilarious," "stupid," or "moderately amusing." Other than several reviewers remarking that they disliked the black background, there was no real consensus in any of the categories.

Some random comments from our reviewers:
"I'm sorry, but I just don't understand this blog at all."

"I plumbed through their lists and even got a chuckle or two, but mostly their attempts fell flat."

"This blog is funny. The guy insults the Irish and I'm Irish and it's still funny. My only problem was that it wasn't that easy to navigate, but that might just be me. Overall, I'd take the time to read it once a week."

"I found this blog moderately amusing. Actually, some of it was flat out funny -- unfortunately, other parts were not. of course, I may not be the "target" reader, which would go a long way towards giving this blogger a reason to discount my comments. Not a fan of the black template OR the tiny print, either."

"The design is attrocious. A better layout and a bigger font would be nice. I might actually visit this one again. It's like watching a comedian develop their material instead of presenting you with their best work. A little polishing and this one will be great."

"I'm sure this blog would appeal to someone, but that someone isn't me. I read as many posts as I could before I called it quits due to the black background."

"It just seems like they are trying too hard. The count down blog had a couple of snickers but nothing much past that."

"I read ten posts and I couldn't figure out why anyone would laugh at this stuff. I wanted to like it but it was just stupid."

"I really enjoyed this blog for a lot of reasons; well-written, very clever and the slightly caustic tone really appealed to me. But with all of that going for it, it's not really funny; certainly clever, certainly smart, but not more than average on the Fun-Ee-Meter."

"It's not Andy's fault that I see so many blogs wearing that same template like it was last season's, but it's just tiresome. I do love his Notorious List. Good snark there."

"OK, I had never heard of this blog before and I just spent the entire morning reading 'The List'. Yeah, pretty much the whole thing. Very funny stuff. The other posts were funny as well. I like the inclusion of a lot of pictures, it's sort of his 'thing', but it makes it hard to read by disrupting flow. This one will be a frequent visit from now on."

"Celebrity gossip and rude/ obnoxious humour are both huge turn offs for me."

"I immediately added this to my bookmarks for future 'reference.' I rated them nearly-consistent 9 for their snarky humor. However, I didn't give them a 10 for that: It's like a one trick pony."

"Never have I heard such eloquent use of the word, 'bitch.' Honestly, this stuff is hilarious! It brings the rant to a whole new level."

"Quirky, weird, original, and occasionally really funny posts. I don't always know what's going on, but I don't think it really matters."
Good luck figuring all that out, Andy. Other than getting rid of the black background, I've got no good suggestions for you. If you want to reach a wider audience, you may need to make the site a little more friendly to new readers who don't know what the hell you're talking about. On the other hand, confusing people may just be part of your schtick, like Andy Kauffman or the I.R.S.

Dan's Blah Blah Blog

Dan's Blah Blah Blog garnered mostly positive reviews, if not a lot of overwhelmingly enthusiastic endorsements. The reviewers were mostly in agreement that Dan has a friendly, easy-going writing style, but several of them mentioned that it seemed like he was trying too hard to be funny. The reviewers were also turned off by the length of posts and the need to click an extra link to read the full post. Several remarked on the virtually unprecendent number of comments Dan gets on each post. As one reviewer wrote, "I didn't know there were 300+ people on the internet, let alone 300+ people that would comment on one blog. Is he as funny as his readership indicates? Probably not, but Jerry Seinfeld doesn't deserve 300+ comments per post either." Dan's infrequent and somewhat irregular posting schedule also hurt him a little. Overall, the sentiment seemed to be that Dan's Blah Blah blog was well-written and enjoyable, but not really remarkable. More than half said they would return on a regular basis.

A sampling of quotes from our reviewers:

"Long posts turn me off. I just couldn't get into the rhythm of the writing."

"Dan's blog is funny. Dan is funny. I read his blog regularly."

"Although I found this blog to be fairly well written, the posts tended to be a bit long. They were somewhat humorous, but the nature of said humor was fairly predictable. As I scrolled through there was the requisite picture of the binkini clad woman...oh look, another (this one with the blog author). Then...more pictures of the blog author."

"Dan has a smooth and fun voice. His self-deprecation is right on... I like the site and will be a semi-regular reader."

"I think this particular blog is amusing, and friendly. The author has a nice breezy writing style, which I enjoy for the most part, although I am sometimes struck by the thought he's trying a bit too hard to be funny -- which comes across as disingenuous.... The number of commenters makes it unbelievably frustrating to leave a comment. I mean, well done on cultivating such a loyal following of female readers, but my wrist can only sustain so much scrolling."

"This blog is hilarious, but you have to be quick or there'll be around a 1000 comments before yours."

"I see promise, but this blog just screams 'vanilla.' That's OK, I guess, but I like my humor a bit closer to the edge. Really, really long sidebar with lots of good and bad. Why the extra click to read every post? That's really annoying."

"I can tell this guy is a good writer and he seems to have a huge fan base given the number of comments each of his posts get, but I just really did not find the writing very funny."

"I don't like that I have to click through to read the rest of each post. Otherwise, it's a great blog!"

"Can you fire people from the internet?"

"He is a good writer, I just didn't find the posts to be my cup of tea."

"This blog tries really hard to be funny. I mean, REALLY HARD. It's kind of painful watching it, actually. And the posts go on and on and on."

"I thought this one was pretty solid, although some of the posts flirted with being too long. I don't normally like observational humor, but this got a few chuckles out of me."

"300+ comments a post? It takes longer to see the comment page than the blog. THAT'S funny. Otherwise, Dan has a nice, easy-going style of writing that will (and obviously) appeals to the masses. It would be nice to see a list of Dan's favorite posts."

"You know, I like Dan's writing. He has a very conversational style, and expresses his difficulties (real or imagined) in a way that I can relate to. I would definitely read this blog again."

"Everyday humour is the kind I like best. The entries are pretty long but good."

Funny, but tries too hard to be funny- the humor feels forced at times, like British slapstick at its worst. Also, I hate-hate-HATE blogs that make me click to read the entire post and then take you to a separate page."

"This is a blog I currently read. Dan's writing has a natural, unforced humor to it. He's a man on a journey, and fortunately sees the humor in spots where some of us would not.... He comes off as a genuinely good natured person."

"This guy has a good, everyman sense of humour. He is also obsessed with the human bum. It's a surprisingly good combination."

"Occasionally amusing, but usually not laugh out loud funny. Also a little self-absorbed -- I dont need to hear about his affinity for supermodels in every post."

"Great blog."

So Dan, if you're listening -- You've obviously got a style that appeals to a lot of people, so I'm guessing you're not going to take a few unenthusiastic readers too seriously. But maybe try to break your posts into more frequent, shorter entries, and get rid of that "Click to read the rest..." link, and some day you may break through that 1,000 comment ceiling.

Copacetic City

Our reviewers were mostly positive about Copacetic City, though several of them weren't sure it really qualified as a humor blog. As one reviewer wrote, " What this blog lacked in actual make-me-laugh humor, it gained in charm. How can you not get drawn in by a man who has named his benign brain tumor Spike? His writing style was warm and easy and I liked him right away. His blog seemed to be a charming place to come back to." An impressive 50% of the reviewers were charmed enough by Jim's adventures with his cat Spaz and his brain tumor Spike to come back to Copacetic City regularly.

A few reviewers were turned off by the cat blogging, and some of them weren't sure what to make of the brain tumor "device." Several reviewers found the requests for donations off-putting, while others mentioned feeling bad about giving a bad review to a guy with a brain tumor. Overall, however, Spike was a hit. The only other definite negative was the bland and hard-to-read template. Something tells me that was Spike's idea.

"Original, short, and sweet. Well set up punchlines."

"I have to say I first thought the whole 'brain tumor' thing was a hook, but then I learned it (the tumor) had a name (Spike) and I found myself intrigued. I like the fact that this writer, while clearly in distress, has the ability to laugh at his own plight."

"Jim's writing is clear and clean, but I didn't find it to be very funny. I know the guy mentions that he has a brain tumor, it's repeated very often, in fact, but I can't read someone's blog that asks for donations for themselves without it being some kind of joke or something."

I enjoyed this blog. I wouldn't say it's a humor blog but some of the posts were quite funny."

"I really wanted to give this guy the sympathy points. It takes some guts to name your brain tumor and write about it... When this guy hits his "dark humor" stride, it could be very funny...but who can expect the poor guy to actually do that consistently?"

"When he's not writing about his stupid f---ing cat or garage-sales his words are actually well used. But it's not funny. And I feel really bad about saying that about a guy with a brain tumor."

"I enjoyed it, and I'd read it again, but not because it's a humor blog."

"That's some great content for only blogging for two months. His very first post is pretty damn funny and I've never read about such human/feline cooperation."

"A blog that isn't trying to be funny. I really had a good time reading Jim's adventures. After a few blog entries I knew I'd be coming back for more. I didn't just smile; I chuckled out loud."

"I didn't find anything to grab me. This is one of those instances where I felt like I was invading someone's privacy, like reading a diary with a lock on it.... I wouldn't classify this particular blog as a "funny" blog. I also have a personal disdain for bloggers who (even if they do it passively) solicit donations or 'tips.'"

"I like his commonsense attitude and tendency towards pithy posts. Also, his cat is freaking adorable."

"I like this guy. He has a low-key writing style that's fun to read, if not laugh-out-loud funny. The device (if that's what it is) of Spike the brain tumor makes the posts interesting."

Good job, Jim. Looks like you've picked up a few new readers. If you switch to an easier-to-read template and maybe cut back on the cat blogging, you could probably pick up quite a few more.
