Diesel Hi, my name's Diesel. I run this site. I started it as a lark, because all of the other humor blog directories I found sucked. Anyway, my own humor blog is Mattress Police - Antisocial Commentary. It's listed over there on the upper right. That's what's known in the biz as a "conflict of interest." Deal with it.

Mister Peace

Mister Peace got mostly solid reviews for its witty, intelligent writing. Several reviewers commented on its dull template, but evidently one reviewer's "dull" is another's "easy-to-read." Mister Peace is a mix of stories of daily life, observational humor and satirical pieces.

Some quotes from our reviewers:
It's a bit bland. More pictures or color. Writing is done fine, just spice it up.

The web design is lacking in OOOOMPH!!! But I love the pics that accompany your posts, especially the gopher :)

Belabored the point, had good ideas and they were well written but only amused, no LOL moments

This is a great blog, excellent sense of humor, well written and to the point. Good webdesign too, although its a little bit plain.

I absolutely adored many aspects of this blog. It's original, clean, funny -- not a lot to NOT like. Is this blog the "greatest thing I've read all day"? Probably not (kind of partial to a few others). That said, it IS good, and well worth a few more visits.

It's not an out and out humor blog, it's more slice of life.

Clean layout - not necessarily as funny as it is grumpy...but a good read all the same.

More bitter than funny, and while I know a lot of good humor stems from negativity, this blog just left a bad tasted in my mouth. I'm also not a big fan of needless profanity. The posts were longer than the content warranted but I appreciate the effort he takes to find up to date news pieces and comment on them for the lazy blog-surfers' sake. What's up with that blogroll? There's no real sense to how it's ordered and you can't really tell what the links are until you go there. A mix of blogs, and random other bits. He should have a separate link list for the various kinds of links he has. Otherwise, the blog is very easy to read, a simple format (although not much personality) and efficient.

A very solid blog. And hey, it's funny too! The template is a little bland, but sometimes simpler is better. Well done cupcake, well done.

I loved the content. Your writing is hilarious and the style in which you write is poignant and can't be missed. I will definately be coming back for more. The only down side was the layout. I found it too scrunched together and the links a little too tiny. Granted I have a pretty high resolution set on my monitor but in comparison, it's still small. Other than that, excellent read!

This blog's definitely silly, but none of the entries actually made me laugh.

I started off reading the article about Spiderman 3 and the Emo culture. At first I thought it was a serious piece, it took it's time getting around to the satiric parts. It was a long way to go for a weak punchline.

I'd say this blog is for people who are looking for sarcastic and silly commentary rather than laughter. As far as that goes, though, I still found the content to be a little weak.
Most of the reviewers seem to feel that Mister Peace fell short of LOL-level humor. The satirical news pieces, in particular, are a little long and dry relative to their humor potential. Maybe it's just me, but I find that very few people can effectively write fake news, because it's so hard to (1) not telegraph the punchline, and (2) be funny while sticking to the conceit of a news story. The Onion can do it; almost nobody else can. I'd be more willing to read this blog if Mister Peace were to extract the joke(s) from the news pieces and just post them as one-liners. The whole Spider-Man 3 piece, for example, could be boiled down to:
Spider-Man 3 was the most popular superhero movie of all time because it capitalized on the whole emo culture phenomenon. Don't think movie producers haven't noticed. This phenomenon is already spilling over into other genres. Warner Brothers has just announced they're filming a movie called "Teardrops on Pillows," in which Samuel L. Jackson plays a street-wise bounty hunter named Tyrone Teardrop who catches his quarry by befriending them and then betraying them in a profound way. In their emotionally fragile state, he arrests them while using his signature line ‘This hurts both of us’.
See, now that's funny, and it didn't take me 20 minutes to read.

But whatever, that's just my opinion. I've got a short attention span, so I'm constantly
