Wouldn't you know that I could not be more behind in well, just about all areas of my life right now, including but not limited to my posts here at Humor-blogs.com, and I have to turn in a review on a Professor's blog? Rather awkward. Anyway, I'll keep this brief because my life is falling apart. Okay, perhaps that's a tad dramatic - so the switchover from summer to winter clothes has hit a snag, I'm sure my family won't have to wear our bathing suits to work/school tomorrow (again).
We are grading, sorry - reviewing
Diaries of the Professor (and he's keeping the name so too bad if you don't like it). I don't know but I like this guy. I bet he would be a great neighbor, co-worker, friend. Maybe that's not what we're reviewing but I also see a spark of understated humor in his writing that says there's more behind the closed barn door than he lets on. Well not that he mentioned any barns, but in any event...let's get on to what the reviewers have to say:
| Category | Score | Points |
| Content | 4.92 | 34/70 |
| Writing | 6.69 | 3/5 |
| Web Design | 6.85 | 3/5 |
| Intangibles | 6.31 | 3/5 |
| Read Regularly | 3.85 | 4/10 |
| Frequency | 6 | 3/5 |
| Total | | 50 |
Percentile Rank: 18This is a well-themed blog which was enjoyable to read - especially the post on Apple. One problem is that he posts every two weeks or so!
This is good stuff. IZod killed me. This guy knows that if you're going to write long comedy posts, you have to be absolutely killer. He writes short, snappy tidbits and leaves you satisfied. I like it. I visit often already.
Incidentally, Professor's baseball blog (which I just found through this review) is wonderful too.
The prof is in, whatever the hell that means. The site's fun and he's an Opie and Anthony fan, what more should you want in life. I will visit often... unless his new collegiate career makes him stodgy.
ED NOTE: In answer to your first comment - Hmmm, let's guess. He's a professor (or at least was). I'm sure there must be some connection,
tap tap tap...it'll come to me. Actually it automatically conjured up the reference to the old Dr. Demento show welcome - "The Doctor is in!"
The title is right on. It's a diary, an unfunny one. It was like reading the script to a chick flick, with a few mildly amusing commercials thrown in.
I'm not a fan of very dark backgrounds. It tires my eyes after a while.
ED NOTE: Is it me or does this same comment crop up in each review? If it's from the same reviewer, could you quit whining and actually comment on the content? Thanks.
Negative points for a pose where one of your hands is holding the index finger of the other. That is just weird.
ED: Would a profile be okay?
The writing was fine, but this was worse than just not getting around to being funny. It tried, but well, not so much.
Fine as a sports blog and personal journal but that's about it.
Some good stuff on ipod, izod... other than that, is this supposed to be funny?
I get to mark the Professor, A for writing, A- for web design but I'm afraid you've failed humour and will have to re-sit next year, sorry.
and finally:
Ahhhh! Say something funny for the sweet love of Mary!
Testy, aren't we? Professor, I'll say that I enjoyed your blog. You write well, you are relatable and dare I say for fear of being stoned, humorous? I think that you've got a few things on your plate but to get a consistent following, you'll have to post a bit more. Please don't go to my blog as an example of consistency - just do as I say, not as I do. I think that you are a funny guy, your writing doesn't always perhaps reflect that. That is often a conundrum facing potential bloggers who'd like to participate - what makes a Humor-blogs.com blog and is mine one? The reviews are mixed and leaning toward no on yours. I'm bucking the system and saying hang in there and keep cultivating your voice and your blog.
I'll check back on you next semester.
