Diesel Hi, my name's Diesel. I run this site. I started it as a lark, because all of the other humor blog directories I found sucked. Anyway, my own humor blog is Mattress Police - Antisocial Commentary. It's listed over there on the upper right. That's what's known in the biz as a "conflict of interest." Deal with it.

The Reasonable Ego

The Reasonable Ego was a solid hit with our reviewers. Sinister Dan got dinged for his lackadaisical posting schedule, and for making a few of our reviewers think too hard. As one reviewer said, "Intelligent, witty, entertaining. These are qualities I look for in a blog, and I find all three alive and well throughout the writings of Sinister Dan. Anyone who can start a section with the line 'Unlike most of you, I've never met Boris Yeltsin' gets my vote for funny. Well done. I hope I'm smart enough to keep up."

Some quotes from our reviewers:
Good read for those who love to read about more news in a comedic fashion.

Dan here as he doesn't update as often as others, but that's a good thing. Dan has relaxed tone and doing it everyday would hurt his blog.

This is intelligent humor at its best!

Awesome. Needs to blog more, way more. The captions were good. This guy is hilarious.

More or less current events opinion pieces. Well written and pretty funny, albeit in a typical blog-snarky way.

Snarky and intelligent, and ably poking fun at both sides in the political arena. Loved it.

Very funny! You definitely have to follow politics to get him, but this is an extremely witty and sharp blog.

I can't decide if I have intermittent attention deficit disorder, or if this blog makes my brain hurt. It is my humble opinion that if this blogger were a bit more selective or economical with his/her word useage, it might make the individual posts *POP* a bit more.

Great layout. A little esoteric for me as I had to work for the funny.

My dating life has more consistancy then his entry schedule. I do like his take on things but it's hard to say I'll keep visiting if I don't know when a new entry will be posted.

I like the layout. Clean organized, easy-to-read. The posts are formatted perfectly with great use of images and links. The writing is top-notch. having said all that, I would not read the blog regularly because the humor is not the style I enjoy and the posts were a little long and boring. That freaky little BlogMad graphic in the left sidebar is too big for its space and it overlaps onto the content on my screen.

I really like blogs that make me feel smarter when I'm done reading them, and also entertain me at the same time. Sinister Dan's picture captions are hilarious, and his template is pleasing to the eye. Clearly, the biggest thing that he needs to work on is frequency of posts recently. This kind of talent should express itself more often.

SinisterDan is just plain laugh out loud funny, as well as obviously very intelligent. I could see him writing humorous commentary for a living.

This blog had the funniest posts yet. A stellar effort all around, especially with the great links and captions!
Way to go, Sinister Dan. Looks like you've made some new fans. The only real advice I can give you is to stick to a more regular posting schedule. Even if it's only once per week, at least people would know what to expect. You could also try making the posts shorter and punchier, but I suspect that would detract from your style and disappoint fans of your dry, erudite wit. I guess it's a pretty good review if the only common negative theme is that you're not posting enough.

That's a really, really, really sparse posting schedule.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the highest score so far, Sinister Dan, despite your irregular schedule. :)

Diesel..
I remember the last site that did these reviews posted the highest scores in the sidebar.

I realize we don't want to rank ALL the scores, but it might be an idea to put the highest two or three somewhere so people can see them, and give them a point of reference when other scores are announced.

Just an idea.

I think that a top 5 or a top 10 would be a great idea, but only if it didn’t incorporate anything other than the review score.

(I have issues with the traffic score, but that’s another topic entirely).

I think it would provide additional linkage to the bloggers of humor-blogs, and give them more incentive to open up their readers to what is done here.
