Most of our reviewers were impressed by
Davezilla's clever, accessible humor style. As one reviewer noted, "I think in the context of the blog being a quick fix and not one with humor writing, it's a good one. This is the kind of blog that is about the writer and readers being interactive with the entries. I would add this to my favorites." A few reviewers remarked that Davezilla relies too heavily on links and material borrowed from other sources, but most said they would be back. As proof of the theory that you can't please everyone, Davezilla got dinged for doing exactly the opposite of what some reviewers didn't like about
The Reasonable Ego: posting short items without a lot of commentary. Several readers also complained about the difficulty of navigating through the archives.
A few readers remarked that this blog seems to be "just a collection of unoriginal pieces." I'm never sure what to do with these statements. None of the reviewers who made this point provided any examples, so I'm not sure what they're talking about. As far as I can tell, most of the material on the site is original, and the stuff that isn't is marked as such. It's true that Davezilla includes "Links of the Day" and the like with every post, but he doesn't do that
instead of a post, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Some more quotes from our reviewers:
This blog makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The posts are short but very funny! Gets the job done for me!
That old saying -- "Time is money. Fast is funny". Dave has that down pat. It took me a little bit to figure out the navigation and to find the writing part, but it's worth the effort.
There are some good ideas in this blog but they just don't have that necessary spark and they end up being only mildly humorous. And having the archives at the bottom is a pain, it's much easier when they are on the side.
It takes talent to sum up pictures and/or links in a fashion that's succinct-yet-not-boring, Dave Barry does it with grand style. From what I can tell, Davezilla does, too.
Easy bite-sized stuff. His explanations of the links he's featuring make me giggle, never mind the links themselves.
This blog combines aggregated weirdness and original visual humor in a fun, random way that would make me want to visit often.
This is a blog I regularly read. I consider it the "vanguard" of its ilk. Engaging photos posted with full-on-frontal involvement of the readers to leave appropriate, if not hilarious, comments. Fantastic links of the day, etc. I always come away from reading this site having laughed!
I didn't see much writing on this blog but what I did see was entertaining. I particularly liked the David Hasselhoff photo caption post. The blog is nicely organized but could be jazzed up a little. The banner and color scheme would have made me leave pretty quickly had I not come specifically to read. The weird half-of-a-rss graphic on the right sidebar is strange-looking. My only advice. Get a better theme.
My first tendency is to give this blog all "1's", just because the guy calls himself "Davezilla". I mean....really?!? While much of it made me laugh (positive), not much of it was writing (meh). Some posts were amusing original cartoons or graphics (positive) and some appeared to be Google images (not as positive). Overall an enjoyable experience, but I don't feel an overwhelming desire to go back often. I can find my own "links of the day".
I like this blog's sense of humour, but a proper monthly archive is desperately needed. It's the easiest way to navigate any blog.
So there you go, Dave. Looks like you could benefit by improving the navigation and maybe not using as much "borrowed" material, but overall you're doing a great job... as I'm sure you know. Congrats.
