Some of our reviewers may have noticed that I occasionally guest post at
Central Snark (though I haven't contributed in over two weeks). One reviewer commented, "Like I'm going to give one of your blogs a bad review when there is a possibility of it coming back to haunt me." Ironically, however, I think my affiliation with Central Snark may have done it more harm than good. I and the other two long-time contributors to Central Snark recused ourselves from rating Central Snark -- and without violating the Humor-Blogs.com anonymity policy, I'll just say that the three of us are probably some of the more generous reviewers. That said, the numbers are what they are, and Central Snark fared pretty well overall.

The comments were all over the place:
"This is a quality blog all around, and it is pretty funny. Snark shares a problem with all multi-author blogs - inconsistency. Some stuff is killer, some is merely average."
"Clean, organized, simple template. Dislike the loooooong blogroll list. This blog annoyed me on two levels. One the posts were written in such a way that it felt like when you are stuck on the phone with your crazy, chatty Aunt Beatrice and she won't shut-up. And two, snark should be reserved for 14 year olds not adults. Very un-funny, immature and so-not-cool anymore."
"I don't get it."
"This is a fun blog that is made more fun by it being a group effort. My only thing is it is not snarky enough. I found it to be more charming than biting."
"I love this blog, it's one of my favorites, one of the ones I can't live without. Each of the contributing writers has their own original style which keeps this blog interesting -I always come away laughing."
"I am very impressed, although I think everyone who writes there is smarter than I am, which I find intimidating. I prefer the company of mouthbreathers so that I look good in comparison."
"The posts I read made me do my silent cubicle laugh numerous times. I'll definitely be back."
"I love this blog! I love their style of writing and the fact that I find myself belly laughing more often than not, has me going back for more. I would highly recommend this blog!"
"Normally I like wanton swearing and hot sex. Unfortunately, I found this blog to be a bit more of a ramble than a coherent source of humour. It's by no means terrible, but I could not personally recommend it to others."
"I liked the (mostly) clean look of this blog. Would have preferred more actual humor writing and less myspace videos."
"I like this better than most snarky blogs I've read, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's funny. If one of the writers hits on a subject you like, it can be interesting. Funny? Not so much."
"There is just not much new you can say about entertainment and show business. I did like the personal posts that were about the blogger's own life."
"I usually enjoy reading the Snark. I am not such a huge fan of YouTube blog posts, and unfortunately Central Snark uses that device frequently. The pictures at the top of the page frighten me. I would visit more often if they weren't so freaky."
"Sorry - I just didn't laugh and got fed up with more and more explanations of why there wasn't going to be a post this time. It felt like the posts were for people who wanted to know all about the authors as opposed to being made to laugh."
"This is not a bad blog - the humor is not my cup of tea, but the writing is decent, and the author tries to relate to the reader. I hate to be negative about any site, but this just didn't turn me on."
So, good job, Snarksters. I don't think the criticisms will come as any surprise to Snuppy & co. So let's try to cut down on the YouTube posts, maybe increase the snark quotient a little and do something about those scary pictures. Oh wait, was I supposed to do that?
